Hyderabad’july 3 (PMI)The Central Peace and Welfare Committee, an organization actively working for the promotion of peace, harmony, and brotherhood in the city, paid rich tribute to Imam Hussain (A.S.), describing him as a great human being, a symbol of truth and justice, and a timeless icon of resistance against oppression. In a statement, the committee said that although Imam Hussain’s background is rooted in Islam, his message is universal and transcends all religious boundaries, offering enduring lessons for people of all faiths and for humanity at large.
The committee emphasized that the sacrifice of Imam Hussain should be seen not merely as a religious event, but as a representation of universal human values. His unwavering stand against tyranny has been presented as a symbol of victory of truth over injustice. Recalling the influence of Imam Hussain’s legacy on global leaders, the committee highlighted that Mahatma Gandhi was deeply inspired by Imam Hussain and shaped his non-violent resistance movement based on the principles of truth and sacrifice. Gandhi once remarked, “I learned from Hussain how to achieve victory while being oppressed.”
A delegation of the Central Peace and Welfare Committee visited the sacred site of Alawa Bibi today and offered their respects with deep devotion. The members lit candles, prayed for peace, and paid homage to Imam Hussain’s noble legacy.
