Hyderabad ‘October 12 (Zahid hussain-PMI): MCC Nodal Officer, EVDM Director Prakash Reddy trained the Flying Swad and Video Surveillance teams at the GHMC headquarters on Wednesday to conduct the elections for the 15 constituencies of the district effectively. He said that the model code of conduct came into force from the date of release of the election schedule. FSTs and VSTs in MCC have been advised to submit a daily report on the action taken against the violators of the Model Code of Conduct. Flying swad teams should be alert and they will be continuously monitored through GPS track system. It is stated that any incidents will be monitored through CC cameras.
Candidates expenditure should be less than 40 lakhs
Prakash Reddy suggested that flying swad and surveillance video recording must be done when alcohol, liquor and other items are caught as part of the election management. He said that the video surveillance teams should record the meetings, banners etc. of the political parties. It is suggested that the cash seized by the flying sad teams should be submitted to the court and the cash for which no FIR has been registered should be submitted to the District Grievance Cell (DGC Hyderabad Collectorate). He said that this cell will examine the relevant evidence and if there is no criminal charge, the money will be handed over to the concerned persons. According to the election rules, the people of the city have clarified that only cash less than 50,000 is allowed, and for cash above 50,000, relevant documents have to be shown. Political party leaders want to educate the people without tempting them. Election Expenditure Monitoring Nodal Officer Sarath Chandra clarified that if the candidates do not show their election expenses, they may be dismissed under Section 10A. According to Rule 88, the public also has the authority to calculate the election expenses. Accounting teams especially incorporate SVR (Shadow of Register) FC (Evidence) from time to time. Paid news will be examined by MCMC and the RO will give notice to the election candidate within 96 hours on favorable and critical news. Saratchandra said that the candidate will have to give an answer within 48 hours and the cost will be entered in the election account of the candidate.
