Hyderabad, M. Mahendar Reddy, IPS, Commissioner of Police and Addl. District Magistrate, Hyderabad City, today appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and ensure smooth conduct of Ganesh festival immersion processions.
In a press note here today, the City Police Commissioner banned bursting or throwing fire crackers on public roads and at public places from 6 am from August 25 to 6 pm on September 6. He said Ganesh festival will begin on August 25 with the installation of idols and conclude on September 5 with immersion procession.
The Commissioner also said the organizers can install Ganesh idols in public places only after obtaining prior police permission. Application forms for Ganesh idol installation and processions will be available at all the Police Stations from August 10 to 16 and they can be submited at the Police Stations on or before August 21. The organizers seeking Police Clearance for installation of idol should furnish a “No objection certificate” from the owner of the premises or land whether it is private or government land. Use of loudspeakers will be restricted to Box Type only. The noise levels should be kept within the permissible limits. A loud speaker or a public address system shall not be used during the night’s between10 pm and 6 am as per the directions of Supreme Court.
