Hyderabad, Sept. 19 (Shoukat-PMI) Swift action by two alert constables turned the tables on a chain snatcher in Mehdipatnam on Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. when Maunika, who had come from Kokapet, was crossing the road. The accused, Sheikh Aleem, suddenly snatched her gold chain and tried to flee. Hearing her cries, constables Vikram and Siddharth, who were on duty nearby, immediately chased him down the busy road and caught him. The stolen chain, weighing 15 grams, was recovered.
Asif Nagar ACP Kishore Kumar said the accused confessed that he had picked up chain-snatching tricks and escape methods by watching YouTube videos.
The victim praised the constables for their timely response. Acknowledging their bravery, the ACP announced that both Vikram and Siddharth would be rewarded.(pressmediaofindia.com)
