Hyderabad, : Telangana State Bonalu festival today began at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi on a grand scale. Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy participated in the festivities on the occasion and exchanged pleasantries among the devotees and people. He also attended the ritual of special pujas and cultural events like performances of Pothurajulu, Shivasathulu and Dappu beats.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy said Bonalu festival is a special one in Telangana State. “We will try to conduct the event on behalf of the Centre through its cultural wing in Delhi”, he said. The minister wished that with divine blessings of the goddess, all people will lead peaceful and happy lives. He hoped that soldiers fighting for the nation on the borders should strengthen the country.
Those attended the Bonalu include Telangana special representative Ramachandrudu, Resident Commissioner Vedantha Giri, Lal Darwaja temple committee members.
