Hyderabad, May 3 (PMI): Targeting CM A. Revanth Reddy for his jibe at the BJP that it would score a donkey’s egg in the upcoming MP elections, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dr Lakshman today told the CM that he should remember about the egg of a snake. He alleged that the CM was lying a lot in order to win the upcoming elections and added that the CM was also creating clashes between the communities to win the MP elections at any cost.
He alleged that Revanth Reddy, who is the Chief Minister of the State, was doing such dirty politics. “The Congress is trying to create an atmosphere of confrontation by forming pro-and-anti-incumbency groups. Even though there will be no change in the matter of reservation, the CM was deliberately misleading the people of the State to win the MP seats. Revanth Reddy has repeatedly put forward the issue of reservation even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi said they would not cancel the reservations. The Congress leaders are in the process of creating fake videos and hoodwinking people. The BJP will not spare those who created fake videos,” he added.
Laxman said there would be opposition from the people for not implementing the promises made in the assembly elections. He said the CM was indulging in such acts to divert the Opposition. “If you look at the Congress which is shedding crocodile tears towards Dalits, it looks like ghosts are reading vedas. Many times, the Congress party insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar. After the BJP came to power, it has increased the respect of Ambedkar. It was the Modi government that honoured Karpori Thakur with the Bharat Ratna. It was also the Modi government that gave due place to the poorer sections of the society and respected women. Jawaharlal Nehru himself had mentioned that those who came through reservation are getting opportunities,” he said.
He alleged that the Congress party was against reservations. “Why did Ambedkar resign? Nehru did not like Ambedkar’s reservation proposals. That’s why he was defeated. In 1961, in his capacity as the Prime Minister, Nehru wrote a letter to chief ministers. Nehru had said if reservations are implemented for poor people, they will become second graders. The man who opposed the Mandal Commission report was Rajiv Gandhi,” he reminded.
He said Revanth Reddy should know that it was his Congress government which blocked the reservation at every step. He also said earlier KCR and now Revanth Reddy were contesting for Muslim votes. “Revanth Reddy’s history of hurting the sentiments of Hindus is known to all. In the past, during YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s regime also, it was in your Congress party that reduced the reservations of the Hindus for benefiting Muslims. The court had also given a jolt to your Congress government,” he alleged, adding that CM Revanth Reddy, who is an accused in cash-for-vote cases, has no right to criticise the Prime Minister. (PMI)
