BJP Govt failed on paddy demand: Harish Rao

Hyderabad, Dec.20 (PMI): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today hit out at the BJP Government for trying to cheat Telangana state and its farmers.

Addressing a protest rally at his Siddipet district the Fiancé Minister accused the Centre of adopting double standards on paddy and rice issues. He expressed wonder as to why Narendra Modi Government lifts stocks from the Punjab and not form our state Telangana. The Minister exhorted the farmers and the people to keep in mind how the Modi Government was cheating them. The BJP Government in the Centre is trying to cheat us despite our repeated efforts on paddy and rice, he said. Though chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao urged time and again the Centre is remaining a mute spectator, he rebuked.

KCR himself met with Modi, Piyush Goyal and other officials and wrote letters and no response yet from the Centre on our demands to procure rice and paddy. We produced more paddy and boiled rice and the Centre has to lift through FCI he demanded. Though it is not heading to our just demands and farmers should teach the Centre a fitting lesson, Harish Rao said.

Harish Rao demanded the Centre should lift paddy stocks from the state and give clarity on future crops in Yasangi. We have procured the same from the farmers and in turn FCI has to get them he said.

Harish Rao informed our group of ministers and MPs are in Delhi to mount pressure on the Centre on the same issue. We will fight until the Centre gives clarity and clear the paddy and rice from our state, Harish Rao added.

The Minister flayed at the Modi Government should open its eyes and avoid cheating the farmers and people of the state. He slammed that Union Minister Piyush Goyal and G Kishan Reddy were trying to dupe and cheat the farmers with different statements on paddy stocks.

The BJP Government should stop communal dramas and give clarity on Yasangi yield besides lifting our stocks of paddy and parboiled rice as the state produces it he said. (PMI)
