Amaravati, Strongly condemning attack on the convoy of BJP national president Amit Shah at Tirupati, AP BJP leader K V Lakshmipathi Raju has demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu tender an apology.
In a statement here today, Lakshmipathi Raju termed the incident as cheap politics and demanded that the CM apologise for the unsavoury incident. He also demanded that non-bailable cases be booked against those who involved in the attack. However, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his concern on the incident and asked the officials to take measures to prevent such incidents. Everybody should abide by party discipline otherwise severe action would be taken if discipline was violated, he warned.
Some TDP workers tried to stop and pelted stones at the convoy of BJP national president near Alipiri Garuda circle when he was returning after worshiping Lord Venkateshwara. Reacting to the incident, Home Minister Chinarajappa said an inquiry would be ordered into the incident where TDP workers, in support of Special Category Status (SCS) tried to stop the convoy of Amit Shah which led to commotion. He, however, said the agitation for SCS would be carried peacefully.
