Hyderabad, Oct. 14(PMI):Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday demanded for immediate arrest of those responsible for the death of BJP worker Eata Madhukar, who allegedly died by suicide after being harassed by Congress leaders and police personnel in Neelwai village of Vemanapally mandal, Mancherial district.
Rao, accompanied by senior party leaders, travelled to Mancherial by train and visited Neelwai village to console the bereaved family members of Madhukar. Expressing deep shock over the incident, he conveyed his heartfelt condolences and termed the death ‘a tragic loss to the party’.
He alleged that Congress leaders, with the help of the local police, intimidated and harassed Madhukar, leading him to take the extreme step. “It is extremely unfortunate that Madhukar, a brave and dedicated karyakarta who worked selflessly for the party, lost his life unable to bear the oppression, illegal cases, and harassment by Congress leaders and police”, Rao remarked.
Rao further alleged that although the names of the accused were mentioned in the FIR, no action has been taken so far. He also demanded for the suspension of police personnel allegedly involved in intimidating Madhukar’s family at the behest of Congress leaders. Condemning the harassment of BJP workers and the alleged foisting of false cases against them, Rao appealed to party workers not to take extreme steps and assured them that the party would stand firmly by their side. He urged them to immediately inform the party leadership if they face any difficulties or threats.
The BJP state president also announced that the party delegation would meet the Ramagundam Police Commissioner and file a formal complaint seeking the immediate arrest of those responsible for Madhukar’s death. “The culprits, no matter how influential, must be identified and punished strictly in accordance with the law,” he asserted.
