Hyderabad, Aug.29 (PMI): Ministers Mahamood Ali, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Koppula Eshwar and Malla Reddy today said Muharram festival (Peerla pandaga in Telugu) is noted for unity among Muslims and Hindus. The procession of Bibi-Ka-Alam will be organized in a peaceful manner in coordination with all departments on September 10, they said.
The festival is known for conducting peacefully with Hindus and Muslims participate alike the ministers said. A whatsapp group has to be set up for smooth passage of the event they said and asked AK Khan to monitor the same. They instructed officials to make all arrangements for smooth and peaceful conduct of Muharram festival in the city.
The ministers held a meeting with officials including government adviser AK Khan and others earlier and reviewed on the arrangements for Muharram festivities in the city. They said that the officials should make prior arrangements for health camps, sanitation, additional lighting on the roads for march of people during the event and set up mobile toilets. They also sought uninterrupted power supply, water supply and others. The ministers asked that the police officials should remain extra cautious and see that more personnel are deployed for security for smooth passage of Bibi-Ka-Alam procession using the elephant.
