Miss World contestants on heritage walk purchase Hyderabad’s iconic pearls and bangles
Hyderabad, May 13 (Shoukat-PMI): The contestants of the Miss World competition today
visited the old city of Hyderabad. The beauty queens from 109 countries were welcomed with a red carpet at the historic monument Charminar with traditional Arabic marcha music. The beauty queens captured the beauty of Charminar and the surrounding areas on their cell phones. After this, a special photo shoot was organized near Charminar.
Later, these beauty queens did shopping at nine famous shops in Lad Bazaar. Apart from buying bangles, pearl necklaces, and other decorative items, the beauty queens observed the bangle manufacturing process themselves. Arrangements have been made to divide them into four groups and each group was asked to do their shopping in two shops. Later, a heritage walk was organized from Charminar to Chowmahalla Palace.
The police have imposed a traffic diversion to prevent disruption to the heritage walk. In the wake of the Pahelgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, all the streets of the old city have been taken under the police control. Madina, Charminar, Shalibanda, Volga Junction, Khilwat roads have been completely closed.
The Traffic restrictions have been imposed till 11 pm of Tuesday. The participants in the program will get an opportunity to visit the historical monuments in the city and learn the history behind them. As part of the heritage walk, the famous historical monuments that the participants visited Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Chowmahalla Palace, Baddhahi Ashur Khana, Khilwat Mubarak, and Laad Bazaar. These have played an important role in the history of Hyderabad city. The history and architectural features of each building was explained to the contestants by local guides.
On May 18, the schedule includes a visit to the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) to understand public safety innovations. In the evening, delegates will visit the State Secretariat for a 3D projection mapping show and conclude the day with participation in the ‘Sunday-Funday’ carnival at Tank Bund, celebrating the city’s vibrant street culture.(pressmediaofindia.com)
