Keerthi Richmond Villas laddu fetches ₹1.26 crore
Hyderabad, Sept.28 ( Ali Abbas – PMI): Setting a new record, the Ganesh laddu at Keerthi Richmond Villas in Sun City, Bandlaguda Jagir, was auctioned for a staggering Rs.1.26 crore here on Thursday.
This price is said to be the highest ever recorded in the Telugu States.Last year, the laddu was sold for about Rs.65 lakh
Every year, the Richmond Villas residents organise auctioning of Ganesh laddu as part of the festivities. The money raised from the auction is used for charity purposes.
Balapur Ganesh Laddu
Meanwhile, the very popular Balapur Ganesh Laddu broke its own record this year and fetched Rs 27 lakhs on Thursday in an open auction held before the start of Ganesh immersion procession.
Dasari Dayananda Reddy, a resident of Turkayamjal purchased the Lord Ganesh’s laddu at Rs.27 lakhs, breaking previous year’s record. Last year, the laddu fetched Rs.24.60 lakhs. The amount earned through the laddu auction will be spent on various development activities in Balapur village.
Meanwhile, police made elaborate arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the auction. After conducting special pujas and prayers, the Balapur Ganesh was taken in a mammoth procession for the immersion(PMI)
