Hyderabad, Feb.21 (Press media of india): State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issues of the suspension and promotion of language pundit teachers of the State.
In his letter, Sanjay urged the Chief Minister to immediately cancel the orders of the suspension of the pundits besides solving their problems related to TNRI promotions. Stating that February 21 is celebrated as International Mother Tongue Day, he said it was a day when the State government should felicitate all its language teachers and added that the State was however witnessing completely different situation under the rule of CM KCR.
He condemned the decision of the Chief Minister to suspend the language pundits on behalf of his party and wondered if the suspension was the gift of the CM to the language pundits. Stating that the State has 8,500 language pundits, he told the CM that they had been waiting for their promotions since the last 22 years and added that it was unfortunate that the promotions were not given to the language pundits despite the fact that they had all the requisite qualifications while noting that they are still continuously working as SGTs for 22 years. He alleged that the State government was pressurising the Language pundits to teach classes to the 9th and the 10th standard students although they are allowed to teach up to the upper primary classes.
He alleged that the State government was taking “revenge” from the language pundits by not addressing their problems. Reminding the CM that he has promised to promote all language pundits while addressing a gathering at the international Telugu conference held in Hyderabad, he asked the CM as to what happened to his promise while terming it as an act of shame. He also demanded that the CM set up a new PRC and pay revised salaries from the July 1, 2023 to all the government employees and teachers. (PMI)
