Hyderabad, Feb.13 (PMI): Former PCC chief and veteran Congress leader V. Hanumanth Rao today faulted the decision of the Central government to impose a ban on world famous media organisation BBC in the country for telecasting a documentary on the infamous Gujarat riots. He made it clear that the BBC had shown the facts in its documentary. Criticising the decision of the BJP government at the Centre, VH wondered if India was a democratic country or dictatorial country?
Speaking to media persons here, VH mocked it was a habit of the BJP to do less and promote more about itself. He also made interesting remarks on the re-installation of Dr BR Ambedkar statue at Punjagutta crossroads. He alleged there was no proper response from the State government on the issue although he had been fighting on it since the last three-and-a-half years. He alleged that the City police had not only demolished the Ambedkar statue put up by the leaders of Jai Bheem organisation, but also took away the statue brought by him to Punjagutta crossroads. He alleged that the police were not returning the statue to him despite several protests.
Commenting on the establishment of an auditorium after social reformer Jyothi Ba Phule, he said MA&UD Minister KTR was in favour of establishment of the auditorium. (PMI)
