Hyderabad: Avinash Mohanty, IPS, on Tuesday assumed charge as the first Commissioner of Police of the newly formed Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate, following the bifurcation of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate.
The Telangana government has created the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate as part of an administrative reorganization aimed at strengthening policing and improving public service delivery. With the restructuring, key areas such as Keesara, Shamirpet, Quthbullapur, and Kompally have been brought under the jurisdiction of the new commissionerate.
Meanwhile, Bhongir, which was earlier under the Rachakonda Commissionerate, has been separated and designated as an independent police unit. A Superintendent of Police (SP) will be appointed to oversee law and order in the Yadadri Bhongir district.
Senior police officials said the bifurcation is expected to enhance administrative efficiency, improve crime prevention, and ensure quicker response to public grievances in the rapidly expanding suburban and urban regions around Hyderabad. (pressmediaofindia.com)
