Hyderabad, 20 Dec 2024 (PMI): The Telangana assembly turned into a battleground today as BRS leaders insisted on a discussion on the adjournment motion. The BRS party leaders gave an adjournment motion for a discussion on this formula e-car racing issue. The BRS MLAs attended the assembly with black badges and placards. They raised slogans that illegal cases were being registered against KTR only for questioning the bogus promises made by the ruling party was illegal.
The BRS MLAs alleged that Congress MLA Veerlapalli Shankar showed them a slipper in the House and added he showed the slipper to the Dalit MLAs of the party. They demanded that an SC/ST case be registered against the Shadnagar MLA. This led to chaos in the Assembly. The BRS members rushed towards the Speaker’s podium. However, they were stopped by marshals. There was a scuffle between the BRS and the Congress members on the occasion. They threw water bottles and papers at each other. Suddenly, there was chaos in the House. Following this, the Speaker adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
The Congress members said Boath MLA Anil Jadhav threw a bundle of papers at the assembly Speaker. Korutla MLA Sanjay Kumar also tore the papers and threw them away and added that former minister Harish Rao went up the steps of the Speaker’s podium. Congress MLA Veerlapalli Shankar showed his hand and warned MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy when he rushed towards the podium. The BRS members demanded that an SC/ST case be registered against the Shadnagar MLA. The Congress MLAs alleged that the BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy acted in a manner that insulted the Dalit community Speaker in the House and demanded an apology from Reddy.
On the occasion, Harish Rao made important remarks in the assembly. “Why is there not a single minister in the House,” he asked. “We will help in the smooth conduct of the House only if a clear assurance is given for a discussion on the Formula E car racing issue,” he said. Stating that a case has been filed against a member of the House KTR, he said the member should be allowed to tell the truth. Harish Rao said it was an illegal case against KTR.
Meanwhile, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar spoke on Harish Rao’s comments. He said some ministers were in the Legislative Council. He said the discussion on the Bhubharathi Bill should be completed. He also said he would talk to the members after the discussion on the bill was completed and take a decision. He said it was not right to waste the time of the House for one member. On the other hand, Congress MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy said the car racing issue was not a topic for discussion in the Legislative Assembly. He reminded that the Governor had given his approval and the ACB had also registered a case against KTR in the issue. (PMI)
