Hyderabad 12 Aug (Newslines): The Ministry of Minority and Welfare of Telangana State held preparatory arrangements meeting of government officials along with Police department and prominent personalities of Shia community for upcoming Moharram 2020 on 11th August 2020 at DSS Bhavan Conference Hall, Masabtank, Hyderabad. The authorities are not willing to allow elephant for Bibi ka Alam procession due to coronavirus and government guidelines set for the containment of covid-19 for which a high-level meeting was called to discuss the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Moharram 2020 and in particular Ashoora procession (Bibi ka Alam procession).
The President Markazi Anjuman Matami Grouhan Najaf Ali Shoukat insisted on taking out Alam-e-Bibi and procession as it is an centuries old tradition which can to be abolished and asked government officials, minister , Police Department officials to decide on the alternative of Bibi ka Alam procession as they are not allowing to carry Alam-e-Bibi on elephant and had also informed them about the route taken by procession from Alawa-e-Bibi, Dabeerpura to Masjid-e-Ilahi, Chaderghat via Etebar Chwok, Kotla Alijha, Charminar, Gulzar House, Mir ALam Mandi, Purani Haveli, Darulshifa and KalKhaber.
Mr. Najaf Ali Shoukat also informed about the Markazi Majalis from 7th to 10th Moharram to the authorities and officials presented in the meeting which are organized in Pari Mahal (Abbas sahib ki Mehndi), Juloos form Alawae-e-Shaizad-e-Qasim on 7th Moharram, on 8th Moharram in Hussain Koti, Markazi Matam in Bargah Hzt. Abbas, Dewan Dewdi, on 9th Moharram in Dewdi Inayath Jung, Markazi Matam in Bibi Ka Alawa, Dabeerpura and on 10th Moharram in Bargha Hzt. Abbas, Alawa-e-Bibi, Khet-e-Balsethi, Alawa-e-Sartooq Mubarak and Majlis-e-Shaam-e-Ghareeban in Ali Nagar Colony, and Darulshifa. These majalis cannot be held online and must be organized as they have been in the past and the attendees shall follow SOPs and guidelines while attending the majalis, said president Anjuman Matami Grouhan.
Shia community representatives expressed their vies and opinion in the meeting and President Markazi Anjuman Matami Grouhan Najaf Ali Shoukat had stressed on taking out Alam-e-Bibi procession for which authorities have informed to meet back within two days with shia community represnetatives presented in the meeting to take a decision on the procession. The meeting was chaired by Minister Koppu Eshwar along with Home Minister Mahmod Ali, Advisor Minority Welfare A.K. Khan, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan MLA, Ahmed Pasha Quadri MLA, Riyaz ul Hasan Effendi MLC, Commissioner of Police Hyerbad City Sri. Anjani Kumar (IPS), Collector Hyderabad, Addl. Commissioner L&O D.S. Chuhan, Addl. Commissioner Traffic Anil Kumar, Jt. Commissioner SB Dr. Tarun Joshi, Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim(IPS), Mohd Saleem, Moulan Waheeduddin Hyder Jaffari (Akhbari), Dr. Nisar Hussain Hyder Agh, President Markazi Anjuman Najaf Ali Shoukat, Member Central Waqf Council Haneef Ali Shabbir hussain Razvi alambardar,hassan uddin aijaz and others.
