Hyderabad ‘ (PMI): As the police increased vigilance to crack down on drugs in Telangana and checked the suspects, a new batch of ganja smuggling has come to light, transporting drugs from AP to Hyderabad and Maharashtra. When the pilot’s vehicle was going at a distance of four kilometers, the gang members came from behind with ganja. Sensing the height of the smugglers, the SOT police of Rachakonda Malkajigiri chased and caught two different gangs. In these two incidents Rs. Police seized 380 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.15 crore. Rachakonda Police Commissioner DS Chauhan disclosed the details of these incidents in a press conference organized at the camp office in LB Nagar on Monday.
Earlier, three NDPS cases were registered against Darawat Poolsingh of Mahabubabad district. He has good links with cannabis suppliers. In this order, he formed a gang with locals MD Gauspasha, Bukya Bhikshapati and Sheikh Mohinuddin. Balu alias Balesh of Seeleru in AP was contacted. They returned from there in Maruti Swift Dzire and Tata Zest cars on the 5th morning. One car is the pilot in front and the other car is coming from behind. The distance between them is four kilometers. The gang had left to supply this ganja to a person named Limbaji in Solapur, Maharashtra via Hyderabad. SOT-1 Malkajigiri Inspector Ramulu’s team received accurate information about this gang and conducted surveillance. Both the pilot car and the cars coming with cargo behind were caught at the same time. Ghaus, Bhikshapati and Mohinuddin were arrested along with the main accused Poolsingh along with 160 kg of ganja. Along with Balesh of Seeleru, the Limbajis are absconding in Maharashtra.
Mohammed Feroze from Yakutpura, Hyderabad and Dinesh Singh from Karwan are old criminals. Both of them have contacts with people who supply ganja in Seeleru in AP. With this, they planned to earn money by smuggling ganja to Hyderabad and Maharashtra. As a part of this, they formed a gang along with Mohammad Khader, Abdul Rauf and Satish from the city. He went there in Tata Innova and Honda City cars. There they bought 220 kg of ganja from a person named Mukund and left for Buldana city in Maharashtra in two cars. They are driving the pilot vehicle at a distance of four kilometers and observing the police checks and checkpoints from time to time. If they come from Vijayawada National Highway, there will be checks by Rachakonda Police at Pantangi Tollgate, and to avoid those checks, they are coming towards Hyderabad via Nagarjunasagar route. On reliable information SOT police with the help of Yacharam police caught these two vehicles at Gungal cross road in Yacharam. Except Mukund from Seeleru and Thakur from Maharashtra, the other five accused have been arrested in this case. Malkajigiri DCP Janaki Darawat, Malkajigiri SOT DCP Giridhar, Chautuppal, Yacharam inspectors Devender, Lingaiah and others participated in this meeting.(PMI)
