Hyderabad, : The Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chief Ministers K Chandrashekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday met in the city at the Pragathi Bhavan. Chandrashekhar Rao extended a grand welcome to Jagan Mohan Reddy upon the latter’s arrival at around 11.15 am. After exchanging pleasantries, both the Chief Ministers introduced the Ministers and officials from their respective States to each other.
Jagan Mohan Reddy was accompanied by his ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Anil Kumar Yadav, Balineni Srinivas Reddy, B. Rajendra Nath, Kurasala Kanna Babu, Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani), Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy, AP Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam, secretary to CM Ajay Kallam, Special Chief Secretary for Irrigation Adityanath Das, AP Finance Secretary S S Rawat, Power Secretary S. Srikanth, senior officials L. Premchandra Reddy, K. Dhanunjay Reddy, Irrigation ENC M. Venkateswar Rao, Irrigation experts and retired engineers.
On behalf of Telangana State, along with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, his cabinet ministers Etela Rajender, Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, Srinivas Goud, senior MP and TRS secretary-general K. Keshav Rao, Advisor to government Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary S K Joshi, GENCO and TRANSCO CMD D. Prabhakar Rao, Advisor to government Tankasala Ashok, Principal Secretary S. Narsing Rao, Finance Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Irrigation department ENC Muralidhar and others.
The meeting began with Chandrashekhar Rao giving a detailed presentation on the issues pertaining to river water sharing between the two States, including available water, its current usage and need to construct more projects for effective utilization of water. The meeting will primarily focus on river water sharing and issues pertaining to Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act among others. Both the Chief Ministers evinced keen interest to find lasting solutions to the long pending issues between both the Telugu-speaking States. The two Chief Ministers held an hour-long one-to-one discussion before the start of the meeting. (PMI)
