Hyderabad, Outgoing DGP Anurag Sharma said that he gets emotional on retirement and proud to be the first DGP of Telangana State. ‘I am satisfied with my 35 years service in the police department’ he said after receiving a farewell from the police officials including IPS and other officials and staff at Telangana Police Academy.
Anurag Sharma received salute from 11 teams of police on the Academy grounds. ‘Started as ASP of Nirmal, my career reached to top peak as the DGP’, he said. It may be said here that the chief minister has appointed him as Advisor of Home Department. Stating that Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda CPs and CID Police have cooperated with him, he recalled that he faced many challenges as DCP of Old City in 1992. ‘However we surpassed all such challenges after state formation’. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has offered all facilities and support to strengthen the police department to control law and order. He also hoped that the new DGP Mahender Reddy will take forward the state policing system to serve the society better.
