Hyderabad May 5 (PMI): Moulana Ali Hyder Farishta President of Majma-e-Olama wo Khutaba Hyderabad Deccan India and all members strongly condemned the suggestion of Mufti Muhammad Arif Balla Qasmi given in his article published in The Munsif Daily Urdu News Paper dated 1st May 2020 regarding distribution of Zakat is not eligible for Mahdavi and Shia as they are “Non Muslim” in his views, and issued the statement.
All Muslims, in spite of their differences emphasize unity as Muslims shariah a common religion and try to come closer and understand each other’s arguments through unity while respecting each other, but slogans of unity alone are not enough. On the contrary, it is necessary to prevent the Wahhabi Ahl-e-Hadith and the extremist elements in the Deobandis, because of these people and their ideologies, always divide the Muslims and unknowingly carry out the conspiracy of colonialism.
Last Friday, on May 1st, Mufti Muhammad Arif Balla Qasmi, a narrow-minded teacher of Hadith and Fiqh at Ayesha University, created animosity by writing an unjust article against Shiites in Munsif newspaper, endangering the credibility of the newspaper and the Muslim Ummah. The daily Munsif should scrutinize the articles of such irresponsible and narrow minded writers before publishing them.
Referring to the virtues and issues of Zakat in his article on Zakat, he wrote that “Zakat money will be given only to Muslims. It is not right to give Zakat to Non-Muslims, so it is not right to give Zakat to Qadiani, Mahdavi and Shiites.” ۔
Of course, all Muslims agree that zakat is for Muslims, and all Islamic sects that believe in the basics of Islam, such as monotheism and prophet hood, divine revelation, revelation of books, the hereafter, the existence of angels, and the call of the Holy Prophet. They believe in the end of conditions and practice the basics of Islam such as prayer, fasting, zakat and Hajj. They are all Muslims. Therefore, the leaders of different Islamic sects in the light of Qur’an and Hadith have unanimously decided that Deobandi, Barelvi, Ahl-e-Hadith and Shiites are all Muslims and apart from them Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis or Qadianis and Baha’is are Non-Muslims. This is the constitution of an Islamic countries and the entire Muslim Ummah agrees on it.
But unfortunately, this teacher of Hadith and Fiqh, unaware of Islam, is proving his narrow-mindedness by excluding the Shia sect from the realm (Daerae) of Islam. Accusing a Muslim shirk (illegal) and a sin according to sharee’ah. Is it the duty of a scholar to mislead the people by lying and slandering Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan?
A few years ago, Sheikh Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyib, in an interview on an Egyptian channel, made it clear that fifty years ago, Sheikh Mohammed Shaltout had issued a fatwa stating that Shia religion, like all other Islamic religions.
Surprisingly, instead of accusing Shiites of infidelity and polytheism, an Islamic sect should ask Shiites about them because we are Ghadiri Muslims and others are Saqifa (caliphate) Muslims. Historically Saqifa (caliphate) is after Ghadir event. These Takfiri thoughts need to be stopped, otherwise things will go too far.
We strongly oppose the narrow-minded and seditionist Arifullah Qasmi’s article on the Shia sect of the Hyderabad, and urge the daily Munsif to include fair articles in its newspaper. And keep this widely circulated and popular newspaper away from Takfiri and extremist elements.
