NEW DELHI: Amazon India’s investment aims to support network expansion and upgrades for faster and more reliable deliveries, improve employee and associate well-being, and advance technology and innovation.
As part of its commitment to building and operating India’s safest, fastest and most reliable operations network, Amazon will invest over $233 million in 2025. This significant investment will focus on enhancing Amazon India’s operations infrastructure, improve associate safety and well-being programs, and develop new tools and technology for its fulfilment network. This new investment builds on top of Amazon’s investments in creating an operations network that helps the company deliver to all serviceable pin-codes across India.
“For over a decade now in India, we have been focused on building the best-in-class logistics infrastructure designed to deliver with safety, speed, scale, and reliability for our customers across the country. These latest investments reflect our commitment to continually expand and upgrade our operations across our fulfilment, sortation, and delivery network,” says Abhinav Singh, VP-Operations, Amazon India and Australia.
Towards better infrastructure
This investment will enhance processing capacity, improve fulfilment speed and increase efficiency across the company’s operations network that will help Amazon serve customers across India faster and more reliably. Amazon fulfilment centres are designed to make them safe and more accessible to people with disabilities. The company continually focusses on improvements in cooling solutions, safety initiatives, and resting areas to ensure well-being and safety and provide an inclusive work environment. Buildings in Amazon’s operations network, both existing and new, feature state-of-the art technology and efficient building systems to minimize energy usage. These strategic investments reflect Amazon’s continued focus on strengthening its operational footprint in India, empowering sellers, enhancing customer convenience and driving growth for local economies.
How employee well-being is prioritized
Amazon will continue to invest and expand initiatives aimed at improving the health and financial well-being of employees and associates across the operations network. This includes expanding programs like:
Ashray: Dedicated rest points for delivery associates, even those not delivering for Amazon, offering air-conditioned seating, water, charging stations, and washroom facilities.
Samridhi: A financial well-being program focused on financial education and personal finance support for associates and drivers.
Pratidhi: The program supports children of associates with scholarships.
Sushruta: To address the healthcare needs of truck drivers.
Additionally, Amazon India provides on-site first-aid facilities as well as insurance coverage to all associates working in our buildings and the ones delivering to customers. Recently, Amazon India launched a nation-wide initiative to offer free health check-ups to over 80,000 delivery associates and partners through medical camps by the end of 2025.
Amazon India continues to enhance on-road safety by using the latest technologies to alert delivery associates and partners about unsafe speeds and encourage rest breaks. Amazon India is investing in tools that measure route complexity and ensure equitable distribution of delivery routes, while allowing adequate time for each delivery.
