Hyderabad, Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today urged the Centre to allot AIIMS to Telangana State.
The minister, who is in the national capital, called on Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley along with MPs Jithender Reddy, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Sitharam Naik and Nagesh today and submitted a memorandum urging him to allot All India Institute of Medical Sciences to the youngest State. The Health minister also appealed to the Centre to sanction funds allotted in the Union budget to the State.
Explaining about the health schemes being implemented and development of the hospitals in the Telangana State on corporate level with all modern facilities, Lakshma Reddy urged Jaitley to provide more Central funds to boost health services. He also asked Jaitley to speed up the process of setting up AIIMS in Telangana. Since the youngest State was turning out to be a health hub, AIIMS is essential, he added.
Laxma Reddy said the Union Finance Minister responded positively on the appeal for AIIMS. The State government was ready to allot land and provide facilities for the purpose, he remarked.
