. Ajit Doval Calls on Youth to Build a Strong, Resilient India

آج کا آزاد ہندوستان ہمیشہ ایسا آزاد نہیں تھا جیسا اب دکھائی دیتا ہے

New Delhi Jan 10 (PMI) National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Saturday said India must become strong across all domains—security, economy and social development—to overcome the impact of its historical experiences of invasions, subjugation and loss of sovereignty.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, Doval urged the youth to draw inspiration from the sacrifices made by earlier generations and contribute to building a resilient and powerful nation. Addressing nearly 3,000 young participants from across the country, he said India’s freedom came at a great cost and should not be taken for granted.

“You are fortunate to be born in a free India. Many of us were born in a colonised country,” the 81-year-old former Intelligence Bureau director said, recalling the struggles of freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh.

Doval said while the term “revenge” may not sound ideal, the sentiment of learning from history and correcting past weaknesses could serve as a driving force for national transformation. He stressed that India’s rise must encompass not only border security but also economic strength, social cohesion and strong institutions.

Referring to India’s civilisational ethos, Doval said the country historically did not follow an expansionist or aggressive path, but added that neglecting security in the past had made it vulnerable. He emphasised the importance of decisive leadership, noting that leadership plays a defining role in shaping a nation’s destiny.

Calling the youth the future leaders of the country, Doval warned that forgetting history would be detrimental to the nation and urged them to remain mindful of past sacrifices while working towards a self-reliant and confident India. (pressmediaofindia.com)
