Hyderabad : The Airtel sponsored full marathon (42KM) and half marathon (21 KM) competition held at Necklace Road here on Sundaymorning. City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy flagged off for full marathon at 5 AM. GHMC Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy started half marathon at 6AM. Thousands of participants had run from Peoples Plaza to Hitech City via Khairathabad Fly-Over, Rajbhavan Road, Rajiv Circle, Punjagutta, Banjara Hills, Jubuilee Hills. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guests have said that there was a need to conduct such competitions more in the city as the City was transforming as Global City. They said that everyone has to habituate walking or running for their good health.
