ACCUSED ARRESTED FOR SPREADING FAKE NEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA: RACHAKONDA POLICE

Hyderabad 05th April (PMI): Accused Pabbala Venkatesh of Nagaram has been arrested for spreading fake video of promoting enemity between two communities about Corona Covid-19 through Whatsapp social media by posting the video in Rampally friends group. He has been arrested under section 54 National Disaster Management act & IPC section.

Strenuous efforts for detection of positive cases and their contacts. According to Sri Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, CP rachakonda, total 98 persons were traced by Rachakonda Police who attended Markaz meeting at Delhi out of which 7 tested positive  and 3 of their relatives too, 26 in the hospital, 56 under Govt quarantine, 14 persons are at quarantine at other places and 2 persons did not visit Delhi.He appreciated the efforts of CI Cell, SB and IT Cell branches of Rachakonda  and local police who are putting in strenuous efforts in the exercise.

In this connection, CP Rachakonda urges the public to exercise diligence in spreading fake news, refrain from spreading false messages as only united we can fight the pandemic and such short sighted acts of people will only be divisive and lead to unwarranted law and order problems. More so, when the country is in need of united efforts and the focus of government and police specially should be in dealing with the pandemic rather than law and order issues which stem from spread of fake messages.

Police, on 04.04.2020, verified  2301 persons out of a total of 2527 suspect persons.  Of these 14 are positive cases and 2122 are home quarantined. So far, 1199 passports have been seized and handed over to district authorities.

13 violation cases, 140 e-petty cases have been booked in the Commissionerate. In these 153 cases, 175 persons have been found violating the regulations.  Also 12 two wheelers and 5 four wheelers have been seized.

12 lockdown violation cases have been booked under Rachakonda Commissionerate limits for violation of Govt orders during lockdown. Total of 26 arrests, total of 12 vehicles seized, total of 12 FIRs registered and total fines imposed under 510 MV Act is Rs 1,34030/- and registered cases under Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Disease Act.

2 more lockdown violation cases have been registered. In Yadagirigutta, accused Royyala Nagesh kept open his tent house beyond the relaxation period  and in Abdullapurmet, 5 persons of Koheda village  who were playing cards by betting huge amounts despite lockdown orders were arrested (Press Media of India).
