ACB Nets 179 Corruption Cases, Unearths ₹44.33 Cr Assets in 8 Months

Hyderabad, Sept. 1(PMI): The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified its crackdown on graft, registering 179 cases across the state in the first eight months of 2025. Assets worth ₹44.33 crore were unearthed from various departments, along with ₹33.12 lakh seized in trap operations, the bureau said on Monday.

From January to August, the ACB booked 108 trap cases, 11 disproportionate assets cases, 18 criminal misconduct cases, 18 regular enquiries, 21 surprise checks and three discreet enquiries. In total, 167 government officials and 14 private individuals/outsourcing employees were arrested and sent to judicial custody.

In Hyderabad alone, 31 cases were reported in August, including 15 trap cases, two disproportionate assets cases, three criminal misconduct cases, seven regular enquiries and four surprise checks. The month’s seizures included over ₹2 lakh in trap money and more than ₹5 crore in assets.

The August drive also led to 22 public servants and four private persons being remanded in corruption cases, reaffirming ACB’s focus on tightening its grip on graft in the state.(pressmediaofindia.com)
