Hyderabad, Dec.1 (PMI): The ACB raids at the house of Nikesh Kumar, assistant executive engineer of the Irrigation department in the Peerancheruvu in Gandipet mandal, have come to an end. He was taken into custody by the authorities and arrested again in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case for possessing more than ₹100 crore worth of assets. He was shifted to the ACB office at Nampally. He was produced at the judge’s residence at 6 am. The judge remanded Kumar to 14-day judicial custody. The ACB officials later shifted him to Chanchalguda jail.
He was found to have 6.5 acres of agricultural land in Moinabad, three farmhouses and two commercial complexes in Shamshabad and Miyapur areas. He was also found to have huge assets in the name of his relatives. The ACB officials reached Nikesh Kumar’s house on Saturday morning. The ACB officials trans carried out searches at 19 locations belonging to the relatives of Kumar in Tholkatta, Sajjanpally, and Nakkalapalli farmhouses in Moinabad mandal and seized undisclosed assets. His assets were found to be worth Rs 17,73,53,500. It is estimated that the value of the said assets in the open market is estimated to be around Rs 100 crore.
The ACB officials revealed that Nikesh Kumar was arrested on Saturday night. He was arrested red-handed by the ACB sleuths while accepting a bribe amount from a person six months back. (PMI)
