Hyderabad, March 6 (Ali Abbas-PMI): The Telangana government has decided to distribute Ramadan gift packets containing clothing, titled “Eid Ka Tohfa”, to poor Muslim families on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Nearly 2.66 lakh Ramadan gift packets will be distributed across the state.
In addition, Iftar dinners will be organized in 813 mosques throughout the state. The government will release ₹1 lakh for each mosque to make arrangements for Iftar and dinner for fasting devotees.
State Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin formally launched the distribution of Ramadan gift packets. While presenting the “Eid Ka Tohfa” to poor families, he stated that the government is committed to the welfare and development of minorities.
He further said that the Ramadan gift packets will be delivered to the designated mosques in all Assembly constituencies within two days, ensuring timely distribution to the beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will host a grand Dawat-e-Iftar on March 15 at Lal Bahadur Stadium, where around 6,000 people are expected to participate.
The government noted that Ramadan gift distribution is being conducted for the first time in the past two years, bringing relief and support to thousands of underprivileged Muslim families during the holy month.(pressmediaofindia)
