The CPs who have taken charge as new police commissioners under Tri Police Commissionerate have decided to crack down on drug use and sale in the city. In the first review meetings, Nazar focused on the same issues. Shadow teams have also been deployed to prevent narcotics. Reliable sources said that the police, who received information from these groups, raided the ganja suppliers and seized large quantities of ganja and put the accused behind bars. In the past two days, 6 accused were arrested after holding 500 kg of ganja worth 1.6 crores in Cyberabad Commissionerate. In this, two accused were arrested in the case of transporting 100 kg of ganja from Odisha to Dhulpet and four accused who were transporting 400 kg of ganja from Odisha to Maharashtra. Sudhir Babu, who took charge as Rachakonda Commissioner, held a review meeting on Saturday. It is advised to take necessary measures to prevent the youth from getting affected by drugs.

Cyberabad police are cracking down on the transportation of narcotics like ganja and cocaine. Avinash Mahanty, who recently took charge as the CP of Cyberabad, issued orders to the officials to crack down on the use and sale of drugs. The CP has ordered the police officers to bring down drug mafias within the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate. In this order, it is learned that special teams have been deployed to keep a strong vigil on the transportation, purchase and sale of ganja and other drugs.

Shadow groups have entered the field for the prevention of drugs. These teams collect details of cannabis growing areas, sellers and transporters. Reliable sources said that apart from the city, these shadow groups are keeping surveillance in the ganja growing areas like Odisha, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and other areas.

These teams constantly monitor cannabis growers as well as those who buy from them. From time to time the information will be forwarded to the relevant investigating agencies. If anyone buys cannabis from the cultivation centers, or tries to move it to the city or across the city to other areas, the information is immediately forwarded to the concerned police with full evidence by the shadow teams. Reliable sources revealed that the police teams will be alerted and conduct lightning raids on the ganja mafias and arrest the accused and also seize the ganja.(Press media of india)
