Sharjah, Nov 7(Spl Crosspondent-S M A Jaffri) The 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) began with grandeur on Wednesday, inaugurated by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. This year’s edition has drawn participation from 118 countries, highlighting its position as one of the world’s largest literary and cultural gatherings.
Organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, the 12-day event will feature over 1,200 activities, including 750 workshops and educational seminars. More than 2,300 publishers from across the globe are showcasing their works, with 1.5 million book titles on display.
The fair will also welcome 250 renowned authors, intellectuals, and cultural figures from 66 countries, who will participate in discussions, literary sessions, and workshops.
Writers and literary personalities from Pakistan are also among the participants, contributing to dialogues and events that celebrate regional and international literature.
