3 Arrested as Gang Busted for Extortion and Investor Intimidation; Firearm and Ammunition Seized

Hyderabad, March 17 (PMI): The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda Zone team, along with Masab tank PS, apprehended (03) accused persons by names 1) Mohd Afroz Baig @ Shakeel, 2) Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj, and 3) Bittu Kumar @Raju. Who was found in possession of a Country Made Pistol illegally with 18 rounds of ammunition and two magazines, which were used to create fear among investors and persons demanding repayment of money and financed procurement.

Details of the accused persons:-

A1) Mohd Afroz Baig @ Shakeel S/o Late Mohd Mastan Baig, aged:46 years, occ: Real Estate Business and proprietor of MAB Projects, R/o SSK Apartment, MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad

A2) Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj S/o T. Mallaiah, aged about 30 years, occ: Milk Business, R/o. Near Ambedkar Statue, RNS Colony, Boduppal, RR District.

A3) Bittu Kumar @ Raju S/o Nirmal Kumar, aged about 30 years, R/o. Yadav Milk Center, Thukkupuram, Bhuvanagiri. N/o. Gram Chihattar, Post Chihattar, Thana Maner, District Patna, Bihar State,

Recovered

1) One pistol bearing GL No. 9960/2024 with 18 live rounds and two empty magazines

2) One Red colour Maruti Brezza Car Br.No.TS07FX1807,

3) Cell Phones: 06

4)  One wooden Hockey stick.

Facts of the Case:-

The accused Mohd Afroz Baig @ Shakeel is a native of Hyderabad, and he is the proprietor of MAB Projects (Real Estate), Road No.12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Whereas the accused Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj is a native of Boduppal, Ibrahimpatnam, RR Dist. He is working for Shakeel. Shakeel had investments in land in Ibrahimpatnam and surrounding areas, so Balakishan used to look after his real estate business and accused Bittu Kumar @ Raju, a native of Bihar, currently working at Yadav Milk centre at Thukkupuram, Bhuvanagiri.  Mohd Afroz Baig @ Shakeel, with the intention to create fear among investors and persons demanding repayment of money, conspired with Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj and financed the procurement of an illegal firearm. On the instructions of Shakeel, Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj contacted Bittu Kumar @ Raju, who works at a dairy farm owned by Jangaiah (a relative of Balakishan). Bittu Kumar @ Raju arranged the illegal pistol and ammunition from one person named Gautam in Bihar. Thereafter, Teljeri Balakishan @ Balraj and Mohd Afroz Baig @ Shakeel retained the said weapon, used the same to threaten persons who were demanding repayment of money, thereby putting them in fear of death and amounting to extortion.

 Acting on the tip of The Commission’s Task Force, Golconda Zone, Hyderabad City and Masab tank Police apprehended accused persons and seized Country Made Pistol with 18 ammunition and two Magazines from their possession.

A case was registered in Cr.No. 61/2026 U/s 25(1-B) (a), 27(1), 29 of Arms Act and U/s 308(5) of BNS R/w 3(5) of BNS of PS Masabtank against accused persons.

The arrest were made under the supervision of Addl DCP Ande.Srinivasa Rao Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad  City with close supervision of Sri R Venkatesh, Inspector, Golconda Zone Commissioner’s Task Force, Sri.
