Hyderabad, May 25 (PMI): The Khammam Railway Station GRP has seized 28kg of ganja worth Rs seven lakh abandoned on platform no. 2.
On May 24 at around 9 am, P. Bhaskar Rao, St of Police, Khammam, along with M. Srinivas Rao RHC 127, and SK. Aziz RPC 604 of RPS Khammam, were conducting general check on Platform No. 2. They discovered three black student bags and one hand stick bag under suspicious circumstances at the first foot over-bridge. Upon inquiry with surrounding passengers, shopkeepers, and hawkers, no one claimed the bags. Upon verifying the contents, the bags were found to contain 15 packets of dry ganja, weighing a total of approximately 28 kg.
The seizure was conducted under the supervision of Shaik Saleema, IPS, Superintendent of Railway Police, Secunderabad and the leadership of T. Krupakar, DSRP Kazipet. S.A. Venkateswara Rao, IRP/Khammam, P. Bhaskar Rao, SIRP/Khammam along with M. Srinivas Rao, RHC 127 and SK. Aziz RPC, participated in the seizure of the ganja.
ADG Railways & Road Safety, Mahesh Bhagwat, IPS, appreciated the officers and men of GRP Khammam and announced that they will be suitably rewarded. (PMI)
