2 terrorists killed, one surrenders in J&K

In Jammu & Kashmir, two terrorists were killed and one surrendered following in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district this morning. Sources told AIR that a group of around three terrorists opened fire upon security patrol vehicle travelling in the area near Barbugh village yesterday evening. The fire was retaliated by the security forces ensuing a gunfight. They said one terrorist was killed in the initial exchange of fire after that security forces recovered the body of the terrorist .
 
In the morning today, fresh spell of firing was reported from the site of gunfight in of Shopian after a night-long lull. Reports said another terrorist holed up inside a house was killed as the house was blasted during the operation. Security forces recovered the body of the second terrorist from the debris a short while ago.
 
The surrendered terrorist has been identified as Adil, a resident of Chitipora in Shopian. He had joined militancy in May this year. Adil surrendered after he was trapped from all sides.
 
Jammu and Kashmir Police officials assured him that he will not be killed after which he emerged from the debris of the house and laid down his AK-47 in front of the police officials.
 
This is for the first time in recent months that a militant has laid down his arms during an encounter
