“AIMIM Chief Owaisi Urges Modi Govt to Strengthen India-Bangladesh Relations”

Hyderabad, January 1 (PMI): Amid rising tensions between India and Bangladesh, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday urged the Modi government to prioritize restoring friendly ties with Bangladesh, stressing that the country’s stability is vital for India’s security, particularly in the North-East.

Addressing a press conference, Owaisi described the situation as a “real test” for the government. “Following the death of former Bangladesh PM Khaleda Zia, our Foreign Minister visited Dhaka. We hope relations do not deteriorate further. Bangladesh’s stability is crucial for India’s security, especially in the North-East,” he said.

Owaisi also criticized China’s recent claim of mediating between India and Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. “It is surprising that the Chinese foreign minister claims Beijing mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. I urge the government to officially reject this claim and assure the nation that third-party interference is unacceptable. China supplied 81% of Pakistan’s weapons and provided real-time intelligence during Operation Sindoor. How can this claim be acceptable?” he questioned.

The remarks came after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated at a recent symposium that Beijing has mediated in several global conflicts, including tensions between India and Pakistan. India, however, has consistently maintained that the May confrontation following the Pahalgam terror attack was resolved through direct military-to-military communication, with a ceasefire agreed from May 10.

Owaisi further targeted the BJP over the recent water contamination tragedy in Indore, which killed four people. “All they care about is bulldozer action against Muslims. They cannot even provide basic necessities like clean drinking water yet claim to be Vishwaguru,” he said.

Following the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased and free treatment for those affected. (pressmediaofindia.com)
