Upon receiving the complaint, the police registered a case and formed three special teams to investigate. The investigation combined technical analysis and human intelligence. One team reviewed more than 500 CCTV footage clips, which helped trace the suspects’ movements and eventually pinpoint their location.

On May 28, 2025, based on credible information, the suspects were located in the HMT Jungle area near Shapur Nagar. When approached, they attempted to flee but were apprehended by the police. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the extortion attempt. They revealed that financial difficulties had driven them to impersonate Naxalites. One of the suspects, Erramsetty Raju, had a history of property offences registered at Gannavaram Police Station in Andhra Pradesh. Previously employed in a private firm, he was terminated three months ago, leading to financial distress.
The two accused initially left a threatening letter at the complainant’s residence to demand money. Receiving no response, they traveled to Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, where they assembled an improvised explosive device (IED) to escalate their threats. They then returned to Hyderabad with plans to plant and detonate the bomb at the complainant’s residence to intimidate and enforce compliance.
The police seized key items during the operation, including explosives, the threatening letter, four mobile phones, and an Aadhar card. The swift and coordinated actions of the Jeedimetla Police team, under the supervision of ACP Naresh Reddy, Jeedimetla SHO G. Mallesh, DI S. Kanakaiah, SI Prem Sagar, and constables Naresh and Ravi Naik, played a crucial role in resolving the case. Their meticulous efforts prevented a serious crime and ensured public safety.
The officers involved were commended for their exceptional work and commitment to duty, which demonstrated the effectiveness of the Cyberabad Police in maintaining law and order.(pressmediaofindia.com)
