Hyderabad, June 22(Shoukat-PMI) Hyderabad, June 21: The Hyderabad Police resolved a significant theft case within six hours, recovering ₹46.4 lakhs stolen from the godown of Sun Steels Private Limited, located in Patigadda. The accused, a former employee of the company, was apprehended near the Maharashtra border following a swift and coordinated investigation.
The incident came to light when the Managing Director of Sun Steels reported that an unknown offender broke into the premises on the night of June 20-21 by creating a gap in the roof and stealing cash stored in a Godrej locker. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered under sections 331(4) and 305 BNS.
The investigation team tracked the accused’s movements using CCTV footage from the crime scene, nearby areas, and a Dhaba at Medchal where he had made a phone call. Travel agencies were also verified, and bus depots were alerted. Based on these leads, the accused was located and arrested with the assistance of Adilabad Police at the Maharashtra border, and the stolen cash was recovered from his possession.
The accused, Giridhari Singh (28), originally from Pureli, Sarai, Madhya Pradesh, had worked at Sun Steels for three years before being terminated six months ago for misconduct. His knowledge of the company’s cash-handling practices enabled him to execute the theft.
