Hyderabad, March 17: (Shoukat-PMI)In a swift breakthrough, the Kukatpally Police, along with CCS Balanagar, cracked a high-value robbery case within 24 hours, arresting four accused involved in looting ₹1 crore from two motorcyclists in Kukatpally.
The incident, registered under FIR No. 398/2026, came to light after the complainant Md. Azeemuddin, a resident of Bahadurpura, reported that he and his associate were attacked and robbed while transporting cash.
Insider Turned Mastermind
Police investigations revealed that the prime accused, Md. Khusrouddin, an employee at a private firm, orchestrated the robbery. He was aware that the cash being handled was part of illegal hawala transactions and planned to misappropriate the funds.
On March 17, Khusrouddin and Azeemuddin were sent to Kukatpally to collect ₹1 crore using a token system involving a ₹10 currency note. After collecting the cash, Khusrouddin alerted his accomplice, Md. Omer Shareef shared details of their route.
Chilli Powder Attack
As the victims were returning on a motorcycle, the gang followed them on multiple two-wheelers. Near Pillar No. 836, the accused threw red chilli powder into their eyes, causing them to lose control and crash into a bus.
Taking advantage of the situation, the main accused snatched the cash bag and fled. One of the gang members also fell during the attack and left behind a scooter, which later became a key clue in the investigation.
Arrest at Airport
Acting swiftly, police traced the abandoned vehicle and identified the suspects. Upon receiving information that the accused were planning to escape to Lucknow, a police team rushed to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and apprehended three accused while they were attempting to board a flight. The main conspirator was later arrested.
Seizure and Ongoing Search
Police recovered ₹77.78 lakh in cash, five mobile phones, a scooter, and flight tickets. Efforts are underway to nab the remaining five absconding accused.

The case was solved under the leadership of DCP Kukatpally Zone Ritiraj, IPS, with coordinated efforts from multiple teams. Senior officials have commended the police for their prompt action and efficient investigation in cracking the case within a day. (pressmediaofindia.com)
