KAMAREDDY’24 Sept : A physical education teacher (PET) at Jeevadan School in Kamareddy was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl UKG student. The incident led to outrage as the child’s relatives gathered outside the school, alleging inappropriate behaviour by the PET, Nagaraju. Student union leaders joined the protest, demanding the immediate arrest of the teacher, which resulted in tense conditions at the site. As the protests escalated, the police intervened and disbursed the crowd using a mild lathi charge. Two police officials were reportedly injured during the scuffle. Police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against Nagaraju who has been arrested.
